Artistes
sans frontières is the establishment of a new organization which merge
two international art cooperatives: The Institute for Contemporary Archeology
and The Free Academy. The prime purpose of Artistes sans frontières
is to complement the actions and activities of "Médecins sans
frontières" – dealing with medical issues and "Journalistes
sans frontières" dealing with freedom of speech, in sites of conflict
and crisis. This new organization intends to deal and react to cultural emergencies
whenever or wherever they may occur.
The inaugural event of Artistes sans frontières is concerned with an
exhibition to be held inside and Israeli military jail inside the cells of
the conscientious objectors whom refuse to serve inside the occupied territories.
